About Me
Jessica Smit
I specialise in the areas of trauma, abuse, grief, stress, anxiety, autism spectrum disorder, learning difficulties, career counselling, personal & emotional development (including self-esteem) and daily-life obstacles.
My approach is integrative, which means that I draw from various approaches and interventions and tailor them in a way that best suits each individual. I offer a safe and non-judgemental space which allows for clients to freely express their thoughts, opinions, feelings and experiences.
I have been working with children and adolescents from the ages of 3yrs - 16 yrs for over 5 years. I have a passion for working with children, adolescents and adults diagnosed with various learning difficulties as well as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Having been a school facilitator in various schools over the years, I am aware of the challenges that many children and young adults face in mainstream schools and therefore stress the importance of routine in the classroom, on the playground and at home.
